Oviedo is a modern city with a contemporary and cosmopolitan outlook. It is the capital city of the Principality of Asturias and it also acts as the administrative and commercial hub of the region. Since its inception, the region has been an integral part of the Asturian Monarchy and was also the capital of the kingdom. Some of the most significant buildings and monuments of the land are:
- Santa Maria del Naranco
- San Miguel de Lillo
- San Julian de los Prados
- Cathedral
- Marquis of San Felix Palace

University of Oviedo
The University of Oviedo (UNIOVI) is a public higher education and research institution located in the Principality of Asturias. It is recognized as a campus of international excellence.
The Reseach Summer Camp is organized by the School of Computer Engineering. This engineering school is specialized in the field of Computer Engineering, and belongs to the University of Oviedo. It is located in the Campus of "Los Catalanes". Its headquarters are in the Valdes Salas Building, located within walking distance of the historical city center, public transport and green zones. UNIOVI and the School of Computer Engineering have all the necessary resources any student could need (dorms, meal plans, IDs, sport facilities, research labs, etc.), and their faculty members are very excited to work with this new program. Dorms: Students will be staying at Tl Colegio Mayor América. It is located in a well known neighborhood in Oviedo, and it is equipped with spacious and comfortable dorms. Students will also be able to use the UNIOVI's sports facilities at no additional cost. These facilities are right next to the dorms. Rooms in this hostel are limited. There is no guarantee of availability, so we recommend early booking to prevent availability problems. In case there were not available rooms, the organization will try to offer alternative hostel solutions in the same city.
